Online Therapy at Kensington Psychology Clinic
Therapy from the Comfort of Your Home
Kensington Psychology Clinic offers secure and confidential online (Telehealth) therapy sessions, delivering the same quality care as in-person appointments with the convenience of connecting from home, work, or another private space.
Sessions are conducted via secure video platforms and require a reliable internet connection and a device with video and audio capability.
Telehealth is a flexible and effective way to access therapy. If in-person sessions are likely to be more suitable, this will be discussed during your initial consultation. Privacy and confidentiality are prioritised at every stage: sessions are never recorded and your information is handled with care. Telehealth sessions are supported by Medicare with a valid referral.

Preparing for Your Online Appointment
To help you get the most out of your Telehealth session, it is important to set up a space that feels private, quiet and comfortable. Choose a location where you will not be interrupted and where you feel safe to speak freely. Headphones can help improve sound quality and privacy, especially in shared spaces.
You will need a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. If this is not available, sessions can also be conducted via phone. Before your first appointment, you will receive a secure video link along with any forms to complete. It may be helpful to have a glass of water, tissues and a notepad nearby.
If technical issues arise, your psychologist will work with you to reschedule or troubleshoot. We aim to make your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Benefits of Telehealth
Telehealth is a safe, effective and flexible way to access psychological support from the comfort of your own environment.
Research shows that Telehealth offers outcomes comparable to in-person sessions for a wide range of mental health concerns. It enhances accessibility and convenience by reducing travel time, and allows for consistent support. It is particularly valuable for individuals in rural or remote areas or those managing demanding schedules. Many people find that online sessions feels just as personal and supportive as face-to-face therapy.
While Telehealth may not be appropriate for every circumstance, it is a well-established, evidence-based option that helps ensure access to high quality care, wherever you are.
