Inclusion and Diversity Statement Inclusion at Kensington Psychology Clinic

Kensington Psychology Clinic is committed to providing compassionate, respectful and culturally safe mental health care for all clients. Our practice strives to create an environment where people from all backgrounds feel welcomed, valued and supported. Our commitment includes:

  • Cultural Respect & First Nations Recognition
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, Traditional Custodians of the land where we practice. We aim to provide culturally safe care and continue learning from First Nations communities to improve mental health support.

  • Multicultural Inclusion
We respect and honour the diverse cultural backgrounds, traditions and beliefs of our clients, recognising how culture shapes mental health and care.

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirmation
We affirm the rights and identities of LGBTQIA+ clients. Our clinicians have experience and ongoing training in providing gender-affirming, inclusive therapy that supports diverse sexualities and relationship styles without judgement.

  • Accessibility & Flexibility
The clinic is located upstairs and does not have wheelchair access. Telehealth appointments are available as an alternative to reduce barriers to care. If stairs present a challenge or other accommodations are needed, please let us know so we can support you as best as possible.

  • Neurodiversity Affirmation
We respect neurodiversity and provide supportive care for clients who identify as autistic, have ADHD, or other neurodivergent experiences, aiming to meet your unique needs and strengths.

  • Trauma-Informed Care
Our approach prioritises safety, choice and empowerment. We work collaboratively, respecting your autonomy and acknowledging your experiences without judgement.

  • Language & Communication
We welcome clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and commit to facilitating access to interpreters or translated materials when needed.

  • Breastfeeding Welcome
Breastfeeding parents are warmly welcomed, with private, comfortable spaces provided during appointments.

We invite you to be part of a practice where your whole self is welcome and respected. If there is anything we can do to better support you, please let us know.
